Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the River Nile in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was founded in 1400 BC.

More information and see the beauty of the temple!

Yes, you have to go! Don't miss Luxor and Karnak temple, King's valley, Queens Valley, Hatcheput Temple. Frm here you me go to Asswa and Abu Simbel. Rememberyou are in a desertic area, very hot during the day but cold in the night,

You definitely want to go. regular_smile Luxor is one of my favorite places in Egypt and is the largest open air museum in the world. Others have mentioned many beautiful temples so I won't repeat those. I'll just add a couple more. Medinat Habu is one of my favorite temples. It is one of the most colorful and least crowded. Dendera Temple can be done as a day trip (you have to join a convoy) but it is absolutely stunning. You can also do it via the Lotus Boat where you spend a full day sailing on the Nile (there and back). It's a long day but very relaxing.

Aswan and the Nubian people are near and dear to my heart so do consider visiting there as well if you go. regular_smile You can visit Philae Temple and Abu Simbel (3hrs by road from Aswan) has to be seen to be believed.

EDITED TO ADD: All convoys, with the exception of Aswan to Abu Simbel, have been discontinued. Tourists are now free to travel at their own convenience. :-)

Sorry. I'm just now seeing this post. Nice! I would love to be able to say those words. regular_smile The newest and most luxurious hotel in Luxor right now is the newly reopened Hilton. http://www.hiltonworldresorts.com/Resorts/Luxor/index.html?WT.srch=1#Luxor++++ Others like the Winter Palace are historic landmarks and definitely luxury, but the rooms are not as new.
