I definitely recommend this hotel establishment to anyone looking for comfort and assurance in ensuring a wonderful and stress free holiday.
I have not personally stayed in this hotel, but have booked my parents in for 2 nights. An unpleasant experience occurred to them on the night of arrival. They were ripped off and harassed by a taxi they took from the airport to the hotel.
The driver demanded they pay a price higher than what was displayed on a meter (which I presumed was also rigged) He locked them in till they paid. Fearing safety, my folks paid and told me about it the next morning.
I immediately called up the hotel and explained the incident to them, requesting them to assist in hunting down the rogue driver and getting the money back. The concierge Jimmy attended to me and though English wasn't his main language, he tried his best in understanding me, promising me he would help hunt down the driver and at the same time ensuring my parents continue enjoying the stay there. The hotel’s corporate office was also informed of the incident and request to assist through an email I sent across.
Throughout the day, I was given progress of the investigation from all levels and they continued making sure my parents were well and fine. I never really expected the driver to be found, given that he was from another city and with the huge population in China. Surprisingly, before the day ended, I was told that the driver was caught and a resolution was made.
The efficiency displayed as well as the level of public relation effort from this establishment was incredible. Though no fault of theirs, they took it upon themselves that they could have better ensured things went well.
It is really hard to find good service providers these days who really care. And everyone starting from the ground crew to management has shown that Marco Polo Shenzhen has definitely gone over and above the norms!
