It is likely that we will be staying a couple days in Shenzhen next month. My wife has heard that Dong Men is one of the best shopping areas in the city. Is this true? If so, what 4-5 star hotel would be closest to Dong Men.

Also, from this area, or Shenzhen in general, what is the best connection to Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Is it ferry or motor coach? Thank in advance.

Dong Men is a shopping area in the east of Shenzhen in Luohu district .It consists of several shopping streets with smaller shops and restaurants and two big shopping malls: Moi and Sun Plaza. Good area to find clothes, bed clothes and curtains.

For the hotel ,you may try Century Plaza Hotel because location is right in the middle of the Luohu central and it is about 20 minutes walk to Dong Men.

Hi! Stayed at Green Tree, Shenzhen on 24th, 28th April 2009. Good 3 star hotel. Speedy check in. Staff helpful and courteous. Location 10 mins walk from Dong Men shopping area. Good for first timers to shenzhen. Located along the main road, Could be a little noisy with early morning traffic and busy crowd. Overall good location, ideal for short stay...wink_smilewink_smile
