Hi fellow travellers,
we went to HK for 3 nights with 2 toddlers. This hotel is pretty good for us. It really depends what you like. Our kids enjoy watching the fish in the markets that are around the hotel so it was good for us. For those who love markets and street stalls selling cheap things this would be a good hotel. It's in the midst of a residential area so you can actually watch the local life pass by from your hotel window. For those who are not into the smell of meat and fish then this may not be the place for you.
The swimming pool is closed for renovations till january or so we were told so that was really disappointing for us.
We had the 19th floor and the view was good.
Another big plus for us is that the hotel is on the tram route and that is one of the must dos while on HK island. You just need to take the tram that says "North Point" right up to the end or to the 2nd last stop and the hotel is just 1 min's walk away. Since the hotel is near the tram stop it's good for those with kids as you are more likely to get seats.

The MTR is about 15 mins away (with luggages etc). Take to North Point and if you are with luggages and strollers etc, try to find the disabled access exit (with lifts). Once you exit the lift, cross the road and walk about 2 traffic lights to the left till you get the tram depot. You will pass by a vegetarian restaurant which sells takeaways on the ground floor (no rice or noodles though). McDonalds is right across the road. Once you see the tram depot turn right then left at the fruit stand. Keep walking along the row of shops ( you will pass shops selling prayer items, bread shop - which is not recommended as there is a porky smell in the bread from the proximity to the shops -, shops selling veges, fish, meats, a shop selling Filipino items).
There is no breakfast provided as there is no restaurant and thank goodness for that else we won't be able to partake in the local delicacies which can be found around the hotel. Service is quite alright.

As in Macau, the baby cot is only suitable for children below 19-23 mths. They are very small.

Be patient with the immigration in HK and Macau. There are few counters and not even one counter for people who need faster clearance like with young children. Macau only has a lane for disabled and persons above 65. The lady turned me away but yet cleared some people who were clearly younger than 65years.

We definitely have to go back to Hk and Macau, too little time..

Thanks for sharing your experience, you can also write on review section in Asiarooms.com regular_smile so other travelers can see when they open the page showing Newton Inn, I think it can help out for making a decision whether should the hotel is what they are looking for or not! manga
