....came across a piece of information that says people there hire bikes as a pillion rider just like we hire cabs. Just wanted to know if bike rentals could be possible.

It's always a thrill to traverse unknown destinations by bikes. If you know what I'm saying!

Thanks

There are various car hire companies in and around the major population centres and they are:

- Avis, tel : 314-2900
- Golden Bird, tel : 794-4444
- Hertz, tel : 252-3333
- Safeway, tel : 532-1468
- National Car Rental., tel 314-3423
- Vanista International, tel 252-3333
- Toyota Rent a Car, tel 650-8919
- La Ratu J, tel 739-4584

Bike rentals are usually handled through car hire companies or on a person to person basis. You may find out with them.
The price should be USD 5-7 a day or USD 60-70 a month including helmet.

You must check the bike over carefully before renting.

Hey, I was just scrolling through the Bali forum and came across your post, and I must say that it's a very useful piece of information for as well. I like to travel alone and so, the best option always comes down to bikes.

I really appreciate your efforts in sourcing the information regarding bike rentals. Being a really big fan of cruiser bikes, I find it worthwhile to travel by bikes as it gives me a chance to get close with nature. The scenic rides along countrysides are something are something which I cannot simply describe in words.

Even the stops at a roadside restaurants and motels are enjoyable. The menu may be limited, but it nothing short of amazing ! I recommend anyone and everyone to go on a long long ride at a least once in a lifetime.

If you haven't been to Jakarta, do go there, rent a bike and go on a long ride to Bandung. It should take around 4 hours on a steady ride. It's a nice place and quick getaway from jakarta....to top it all, there are some very good hotels in Bandung.

Regards.
