I'd like to have some info about the night train from Tokyo to Supporo.

If i use JR Pass for night train from Shinjuku to Supporo, do i have to pay any additional charge?
and is it comfortable?

- Yes, you have to pay the additional fee


and is it comfortable?
-It is comforatable, but the JR pass doesn't cover the cost for private room approx 3000 JYP extra. So better pay extra to have a good night sleep regular_smile Note that One or two night trains (more during peak seasons) operate daily between Tokyo's Ueno Station and Sapporo in each direction.

There will be no additional charge if u book normal seat, which u can't lay back yr seat.

I suggest you to pay extra charge about 1900Yen and book the Nobinobi carpet car. It is a bogie which don't have normal seated but a pillow and mattress so u can lie down and sleep comfortably. regular_smileregular_smileregular_smile

Dont' forget to mention about this and may be showing some act about sleeping hehe... so the officer could know that u need this Nobinobi carpet car while u buy a ticket!!! lol2
