Mandarin Oriental Hotel is very close to Twin Towers, you will get a great view of the Towers . The location is great , not far from Airport and be accessed so easily to the shopping area.teeth_smile

i'm also looking for a hotel in KL and came across this hotel in Kuala Lumpur called the Zon Residences. i'm inclined to try it for our trip there next month because it looks good and the rates are not that pricey compared to other hotels in the area, plus of course it is a hotel by Regency. i will come back here to see if there are other suggestions, or if i find out another one.wink_smile

I found some information which might be helpful for you!
Nearby the hotel the Zon Residences that you mentioned there are also some hotel such as Istana Hotel, Regent Hotel, Federal Hotel, JW Mariat, Merlia Hotel, Park Royal Hotel, the Ritz Calton Hotel, Dorsett Regency Hotel in Jalan Imbi area. The price might be a bit high but I think some are still affordable. Location of these hotels is following:

check this out .... Pacific Regency hotel ... read more from travelers reviews , you might get some ideas and should help a lot to make decision.
1 thing, this hotel is a bit far from Central Railway Station.

The best and nearest hotel is traders

and they have a golf car to take you to surya shopping mall
