we hired a car at the airport. after picking up luggages you can see there are some company for you to hire cars.
there are cheap and leixure cars. you just pickup what you want. but the prices originally are high.
they will tell you give you half rate as we were in low season(OCT). then you can start to bargain!
we hire a car made by malaysian
Originally RM 240 for 4 days
Finally we bargain to RM 220+ RM 50 deposite
remember to ask for the contact no in case your car has problem or return the car back to the company before leaving langkawi.
But the quality of our first car was bad, the windows couldn't be up and down easily, and the light in the car didn't work. it was hard for driving at night as we had to look for our destination on the map! so we called the agent, he finally sent another car to us. we had to pay for another RM50 as there was half fuel in the car. we thougt that's Ok!so dealed!
we spent 4 days 4 nights in langkawi, our "2nd" hired car had half fuel. we refilled twice, 1st refilled RM15, second refilled RM10.
Totally=RM50+RM15+RM10= RM75 for the fuel.

Before departure, you only need to drive the car to the airport, then the guy will return the deposite to you.

Hiring a car is a good idea when traveling, however I think as customers, we need to check the car's conditions before driving off their garage; otherwise it could be the nightmare.

There is also an option that you can first reserve then they will drive and drop a car at your place (hotel/apartment)and also you just ask them to take it after that.

Once I tried to rent a car in Thailand, I called one company and make sure that they would be here with the car at 7 am, they came very late and almost ruined my trip to Hua Hin since my trip was a bit tight schedule. Luckily they didn't charge me extra for returning the car late in that night manga
