There are several low cost airlines operate in Thailand such as Nok Air

Sometimes you can get good prices from those airlines if you spend sometimes to look at their websites. In general, the early you book then the cheaper the ticket will be. but sometimes some of them sell low price ticket at midnight (nok air used to this) and air Asia used to drop their price to
0 fare if you keep follow their information. most of the time, one two go focus their ticket to those
go show traveler, sometimes I can find cheap ticket from this airline when I go directly to the airport and buy it directly at the counter.
