I just checked out from Samran Place Hotel Bangkok, and want to tell you my terrible experience..

1. Noisy, very noisy because the neighbor building is now under construction. I think it is still longtime to be finished. And the hotel is on the main road of Bangkok, so you cannot flee from the traffic noise even the window is double. I'll upload the picture which shows the neighbor building under construction as your reference. the building on the left is samran place and the other is the neighbor buling.

2. Theft case happened. I placed 26 Baht on the desk in my room but the money had gone when I left the room for my breakfast. At the moment, housekeeping was going on. Even though I report the insident, the receptionist lady never want to investigate or never say the simple word "sorry". She call the phone to the housekeeping person to ask "Have you taken guest's money?" Of course the housekeeping person said 'No". With the answer on the phone "NO, I Didn't take anything from the room", the case closed on the authority of the lady. The receptionist lady even didn't report the theft case to the management party (Before I checked out I confirmed this).
I wonder how the lady could make me a lier and ignore guest report . Maybe for the Samran Hotel, 26 Baht theft case is not a serious one. I never lie just for 26 Baht! Now I'm asking about the security condition and the staff attitude. So rude and arrogant!!

3. Actually the room condition is not so good. Looks clean because the wall paint is white, but in the guest room, especially on the desk, I found so many ants. And the drains are blocked in bathroom. Terrible.

4. In this website there are so many traveller reviews on Samran Place Hotel, but I think some reviews are fake ones from somebody who want the hotel reputation increased. Never believe every good comments.

5. Think twice before you make a reservation for that terrible Hotel.

My experience with Samran Place hotel was good. The hotel's located within walking distance to BTS, market, thai massage and near the shopping malls. The room was good and staff were friendly. The room rate is reasonable and affordable.

Generally, I think it's good. wink_smile

My experience at this hotel was ok. Since I would like to be located in the City Center and near the shopping mall that's why i stayed at this hotel.

The breakfast was ok, the staffs are friendly, well.. you can't expect much since the price is cheap compare to hotels located near by, for example Amari Watergate regular_smile which you can find the very very good service , I was there also on the executive floor but it was for my business trip (I don't think I should afford that 5* rate to just stay there for shopping around)lol

Baiyoke Sky and Baiyoke Suite could be my choices also but they were fully booked during my stay. Overall I think Samran Place is ok.

I have just stayed at Samran Place and the construction is still going on and my room was in the front facing the main road, not nice.
My main concern was that i had booked 2 rooms because 2 adults and 2 children were traveling. I had to book 2 rooms because on Asia rooms i could not find where i could book in a family. In my booking i had requested interconnecting, adjacent rooms, I ticked everything to make sure the rooms were together. I tried to send emails to the hotel about connecting rooms but no reply. I rang the hotel before leaving Australia to confirm I had connecting rooms, i was told it would be done. On arrival our rooms were 4 rooms apart and was told they do not have connecting rooms.
I have stayed in many hotels and when I have taken the time to request something I expect the request to be fulfilled.
TIP: Email the hotel to find out the exact bed configuration and take a copy of the email with you.
The room problem also happened to me in Phuket. I was not a happy camper on arrival.
