Many visitors arriving at Schiphol Airport might get a bad first impression of the country, because of unfriendly taxi drivers that might also overcharge. I live in Amsterdam and I use taxis a lot when I travel to and from Schiphol airport and I can give you this tip: use an Amsterdam taxi company called Ambassador Taxis. You can get info at their website http://www.ambassadortaxiservices.nl . I am sure you will be satisfied as I always am. They have very helpful and friendly drivers. Their rates are very good. Don't take a chance with taxi's to and from Amsterdam or other places in Holland.

Thanks for the message, want to add more information for the transportation from Amsterdam Aiport.

By tavi: Approx time to central Amsterdam is 25-30 minutes, the fare to Amsterdam is between EUR 20 and EUR 40 depending on destination, The Hague EUR 70 and Rotterdam EUR 85.
Another way to central Amsterdam is by train, journey time of between 15 and 20 minutes.
1st Class One way - EUR 5.90, Round trip EUR 10.10.
2nd Class One way - EUR 3.60, Round trip EUR 6.20.
