By careful with this hotel located right near Edinburgh Castle - despite a warning or 2 on the net, foolishly, we booked online and sure enough they farmed us off to a 3rd rate hotel and then attempted to charge their original AMEX authorisation. Appears their website will endlessly accept bookings. (We need spend a reasonable night with all the others who they'd ripped off that day though!)

Which Thistle hotel did you refer to? Is the address 107 Leith Street Edinburgh Eh1 3sw ?

I stayed there once. I like this hotel bacause its location which is just off Princes St.; eventhough the room was quite small (single room), the staff were friendly!

Refer to you matter, how did you reserve then? with the hotel directly?

Since u mention about AMEX i think u haven't book with asiarooms right?

As i try to use my AMEX once with asiarooms but they don't accept it.

Can u tell us which Tristle u mention about? can u help provide the address so we can try avoid that hotel.
But if it's the one HideAway mentioned about, i'm pretty sure there might be some misunderstanding b/w u and the hotel cuz i found it really nice. regular_smile

The hotel was nice but my room was just too small for me-may be I'm quite too big huh? lol, it was one night stay only that's why I didn't bother to change it to another room type or double room regular_smile. Overall I'm happy with my stay overthere!
