Nottingham is a beautiful place which stills gives glimpses of an old world charm with its characteristic historic buildings. The statue of Robin Hood which stands right outside the Nottingham Castle is one of the "must-see"s in Nottingham. It's pleasant climate along with a well-laid city plan makes it a wonderful experience to be there. If you have watched most episodes of Mr. Bean on television, then you have probably seen a lot of the main market and a lot of galleries and castles.

........a cool place really.

Hi Nakayu, I didn't stay in any hotel in Nottingham during my visit. It was more of a study tour to the Nottingham University, so stayed in the campus itself in one of the guesthouses....only for university or visiting students. However, I have seen quite a number of hotels in Nottingham which reflect the colonial charm. If you happen to visit London, then do make an effort to get to this place.

Note: December and January are just too cold ( at least for me ).

Regards.

Nottingham can be easily reached from London by train, and car. Train tickets are cheap, but it's better to book in advance. Once you reach Nottingham, try out the tram. It's quite an experience!

If its a couple of nights and you want a hotel in Nottingham desperately, try out the Igloo....lots of free stuffs and all.
