It was my first trip to Dubai, though a complimentary trip from my company, I made the full use of it. I perceived Dubai as a complete concrete jungle, but once I was there....I was surprised.
It's more like a co-existence of traditional style of living and the ultra modern life-style. On one side, there are world-class shopping malls and on the other, there are centuries old souks where you can buy some cool 'blings'( gold )and also spices. Though you might not find both at the same place. One thing I'm sure.....you'll enjoy!
Bon voyage

Dubai is indeed a paradise by all means. We were there on a 3 day trip, but on the second day itself we decided to extend our vacation by 4 more days. We did enjoy ourselves a lot shopping, and trying put restaurants. The only thing that I didn't like.....everything is so formal. Apart from that, it was simply awesome. I too agree Souks are really worth a visit.

I cannot agree more with the above two posts. Dubai is indeed a traveler's paradise. Wherever you go, skyscrapers greet you all the way. However, the grand daddy of all is the Burj Al Arab, which towers above all. Had I not been affected with vertigo, I surely would have been there! Well....jokes apart, it's really worth it. If you wish to enjoy the best of hospitality, Dubai is undoubtedly the place to be.
Just check if your hotel provides airport transfer, else you'll be in a mess.

The Burj Al Arab starts where all other hotels surrender! That's not an exaggeration, but really the truth. The upper floors are more exciting. BTW, the check-in is really royal sort of thing. You are most likely to receive a Rolls Royce pick-up from the airport. Nothing's less than thousand bucks though! but really the worth. One thing I am convinced, my girlfriend will repeat this story all her life to her friends!
