Mexico City is oval in shape and it's actually founded on the dry bed of Lake Texcoco. It's also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Mexico is an expensive city, but the bus fares are fairly cheap. The city has a huge number of historical landmarks and it has the largest number of museums in the world. Apart from a huge number of attractions, do visit the Latinoamericana Tower, as you can get a fantastic view of the city from that height.

Also, try some shopping and pub hopping for a meatier chunk of the city's lifeline!
